I am HAPPILY married to the most amazing, Godly, loving, handsome, and funny man... Steve! We've been married since 2003. Steve and I are active in our church, Community Bible Church, in San Antonio! In our down time, we love to spend time with each other. We also love spending time with our families and our friends. We are both HUGE Dallas Cowboys fans! We have no children yet... but hopefully that will change soon! We do have two dogs that are our "babies". They are both golden-doodles. The Black one is named Briley and the golden one is Landry.

I'm tagging YOU!

I'm tagging any of my married friends that read this to list AT LEAST 10 things that you love about your husband! (Mine was a little long... but I just couldn't stop!! :-) ) I'll go ahead and tag the following people:
1. mom
2. Shannon
3. Jenn
4. Kelly
5. Katy
6. Jennifer (my cousin)

If you're married and you read my blog and I don't know you... I'm tagging you too!!!

I think this is a great thing to do! It not only means a lot to your hubby when he reads how you feel... but it makes you realize how much you love him and what you take for granted every day! It hit me when I was writing these things. I mean, I know I feel these things, but do I express them to Steve? Does he know how much he means to me? Does he know that I notice the little things? Does he know how much I love the little things? Do I know how much I love the little things? It was fun to think of stuff. So, now I'm challenging you all!

Things I love about my HUSBAND!!!

So, as I was doing my last post, I thought that it would be a great idea to list the things I love about Steve. Like my last post, this is not in order of importance (with the exception of #1), I'll just type as I think about it...

#1- First, and foremost... he's is a Godly man! He's the spiritual leader of our house and loves God first, and me second! I LOVE that!

#2- He's tall! I love that he's almost 6'4" and I can wear heels and still not be as tall as him! I feel safe around him! People don't usually want to mess w/ someone who towers over them. And now that he's been hitting the gym again, he's getting more and more buff... which is also awesome!

#3- He's HANDSOME!!! (Grrrrrrrr) I've been attracted to Steve literally since the first time I met him in the spring semester of 1997! What a hottie! I love his smile and his deep dimples! I truly hope that when we have children they inherit those dimples!

#4- He accepts me for who I am- with all my quirkiness, my flaws, my emotions, EVERYTHING! I always say that I know God hand picked Steve for me because there is no one else that could put up with me!

#5- He loves me unconditionally! He is forgiving and loving even when I hurt him or let him down.

#6- He’s a LISTENER (a LOT of men are not like this- so I’m blessed that I got one that is!!!)- he just lets me talk or vent or cry. He doesn’t have to “fix” the problem or give advise. He just lets me talk. He even repeats things back or asks me questions so that I KNOW he was listening! He’s amazing!

#7- He’s wise! He makes wise decisions in lots of areas! One in particular is our finances. He’s taught me a lot in dealing with our finances. He makes sure that we are stable and taken care… even if something happens in the future. We are thankful for Dave Ramsey for helping guide us… and I’m especially thankful for Steve’s discipline and wisdom!

#8- I love his laugh!!! Just hearing him laugh makes me laugh! It gets contagious VERY quickly!

#9- He loves family. When he married me, he came into a pretty LOUD family! He loves me and them no matter what and he puts up with all of our loudness! He accepts us for all of our flaws as well.

#10- He’s quiet. I love that he doesn’t always have to “compete” to get a word in. My family always says that when Steve speaks, it must be important! One of my favorite things was at our rehearsal dinner for our wedding when we were having a “share time” of stories about me or Steve. His grandmother, Meemaw, said “I never knew Steve could talk until he met LaShay!” Laughter just filled the room! It’s so true! When he does speak, it’s worth hearing!!!

#11- I love his sense of humor! He’s sarcastic… and I LOVE it! He fits in well with my family! If he didn’t understand sarcasm, I don’t think he’d make it long around ANY of my family!

#12- He’s an encourager. He motivates me in so many ways! I want to be a better person and wife because of him.

#13- He’s an awesome husband! Those of you that are married, you know marriage takes work! It’s fun and sometimes challenging… but it’s awesome all at the same time! It’s worth it! Steve puts so much effort in to making our marriage wonderful! He works to speak my “love language”. (If you haven’t read The 5 Love Languages- you NEED to!)

#14- He’s athletic. He can play pretty much any sport. I love to have a husband who can just get out on a field/court and play whatever sport the guys are playing!

#15- He’s never in a rush! I like that he knows what time he needs to be somewhere and he gets there on time (on time being early! We both HATE to be late). Steve somehow NEVER rushes… he’s always just right on track! Me… I end up running around like a mad woman sometimes to avoid being late or to make sure we’re “early”!!

#16- He’s respected! He earns the respect of anyone that meets him! He’s polite, friendly, and respectful of others. You should hear people talk about him that he’s worked with in the past or currently! They LOVE him! My family loves him and respects him. He’s everything my parents and brothers ever prayed for in a spouse for me. What a blessing to have a husband that your family loves and respects! Not only that, but with our friends and our lifegroups from church… they all love him! Which brings me to my next point…

#17- He’s a great bible study leader! Wow- does God use him!!! It’s again one of those things that when he speaks, it’s worth listening to! He devotes time and attention to the studies that he’s teaching and focuses on reaching EVERYONE in that group!

#18- He’s a neat freak! He’s actually anal… but it’s cute! I like to make fun of him or tease him sometimes… but it’s really a great thing! It makes me laugh!

#19- He’s an excellent uncle to all of our nieces and nephews. He got to spend a lot of time w/ Zach when Zach was a baby. That boy loves Steve and looks up to him so much! It’s awesome to see! When we got to babysit Mallory and Morgan several weeks ago, I could see that he loved those girls and they enjoyed him! When we see Julia and Johnathan… Julia always yells “Steeeeeve” right when she sees him! She doesn’t even notice that I’m there.

#20- He’s like my dad. I always said I wanted to marry someone like my dad. He's a God fearing, praying, leader, loving, encouraging, supportive, fun, funny, family loving man... just like my dad!

#21- He compliments me. He tells me that I look beautiful or something. He makes sure to communicate to me that he loves me and that’s very huge to me! I know I’m loved!

#22- His strengths are my weaknesses… so we are perfect for each other. For example, he’s patient… I’m not… AT ALL! He’s quiet… I talk TOO much sometimes. He doesn’t worry… I worry too much. Those are a few!

#23- He takes care of our house. I hear women at work or even some of our friends about their husbands not doing much around the house. Steve helps out with laundry, dishes, takes care of the lawn, takes care of Briley, vacuuming, cleaning… just whatever needs to be done. It’s not all left on me just because I’m the “woman”!

#24- He is patient with me at the gym and is an encourager. Most of you who know me know that I’m not the most athletic or in shape person. In fact, I had never been to a “gym” to workout until just recently. I was very scared to go because I didn’t want people staring at me. I felt embarrassed because I didn’t know how to use most of the equipment. Steve has been my “hero” I guess you could say. He’s patient w/ me as I learn how to use the weights. He encourages me to push myself. I am pretty sensitive (SHOCKER) so I can’t handle a laugh or anything if I do it wrong. He doesn’t laugh at me at all! He’s by my side in everything that we do!

#25- He enjoys spending time with me. He and I are the same in the fact that we like to do pretty much EVERYTHING together! We go to the grocery store, gym, watch TV, eat, run errands, shopping, church, out of town, see family… everything… we do it together. What a blessing! I love my time with him!

There are so many more things that I love about him, but I figured I’d cut the list short and leave it at 25. I’m blessed to be called "MRS." LaShay Morse and I’m honored that God chose me to be Steve’s bride! Ted and Sherry… you raised an AMAZING son!!!

Steve, in case you read this... I LOVE YOU... more than words could ever say!!!!

My list of "tops"

Okay, well, I read on other people's blogs (yes, I'm just like YOU and I read blogs of my friends' friends! I don't know them, but it's still fun! I know I'm not the only one that does it because some of you even blog about it!) Anyhoo... I see people list their "favorite things"... or "top 10 things I love" or whatever. So, I figured I would make up a little list of my own "top" things that I LOVE! Note- these are not in any particular order... I just love them all!

I love...
1. Being married to Steve!!! I love seeing him EVERY day and sleeping next to him EVERY night! We're blessed that neither of us have jobs where we have to travel and be apart!

2. My family (all of them... extended, in-laws, immediate... ALL). Some people have family members that they don't speak to or they argue with. I am blessed to not have that! We even have good relationships with our in-laws' family members!- what a blessing!!!)

3. My dog! Briley is THE BEST dog in the world! Her love language is physical touch and quality time-(which is great, because mine is touch and Steve's is quality time!)- and yes, dogs have to have love languages too, right??!. She loves to be with us and loves to have someone pet her! If anyone is wanting a dog, I HIGHLY recommend getting a Golden-doodle! They're lovable, easy to train, and don't shed!

*****So, those are some "serious" things... here are a few more that are quirky, not-so-serious, or things you didn't know...

4. Capturing GREAT pics of my nieces/nephews that are gift worthy, framing them or making a collage, and then giving them to their parents unexpectedly!

5. Making people feel welcome in my home or in a strange environment.

6. My house to smell good! I love candles or plug-ins!

7. Alamo Cafe and Chipotle (which has replaced my love for Taco Bueno. I had Taco Bueno when we were on vacation a few weeks ago and it just wasn't the same. Don't get me wrong, it was still good... but my new love is Chipotle)

8. Going to the gym (Lifetime Fitness) with Steve!

9. My church (Community Bible Church) We have a pastor who preaches from the bible and speaks at a level for any non-believer to understand. He's also an Aggie so that makes him even better!

10. My smoothies! (love me a homemade strawberry, banana, blueberry smoothie-- and spinach leaves when I have some. Don't knock it if you haven't tried it!! You can't taste the spinach... it just turns the smoothie a nasty color... but it tastes sooooo good!!!)

11. DALLAS COWBOYS and football season!!

12. I love putting "quotes" on words- if you haven't noticed! I'm sure someone that has read my blog is going "crazy" when they read "something" I write with "quotes". I don't know why... I just like to "put emphasis" on words by using "quotes"

13. Laughing with my husband for absolutely no reason and until my side hurts!

14. Laughing AT my husband and father-in-law when they crack themselves up! If you've witnessed it, you know exactly what I'm talking about!

15. Eating out- I could eat out for EVERY meal... at Chipotle!

16. Spending time with our friends!

17. Getting a pedicure!!!

18. Having a peace that only Jesus Christ can give!

19. My husband (can't say enough how much I love him and how blessed I am to be his wife)(oooo... maybe I'll do a blog on the "things I love about my husband")

20. reading other people's blogs!

Tagged

I don't have a lot of readers... so, like my mom, it's my first time to be tagged! I will tag people, but uh, don't really know that they read this... so, we'll see! I'm supposed to list 6 of the quirkiest things about me, so here goes.

1. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE football! I don't know exactly when my love for football started. I grew up watching soccer my entire life (which I still LOVE by the way and always will!). I'm like a guy when it comes to football!!! I could watch high school (random schools), college, or NFL! LOVE IT- especially my Dallas Cowboys!

2. I HATE, HATE, HATE shopping!!!! Of any kind... even if I have money! If I go shopping, I have to find something within the first 5 to 10 minutes MAX of me being there or I'll leave. I cannot stand to DIG for clothes... so, needless to say, if it's on clearance in a PILE... I won't be buying it! And I can't stand stores like ROSS where you have to LOOK for the good clothes!

3. When I sleep, I always have to have one leg outside of the covers... and I cannot sleep in socks because I get hot and I feel smothered!

4. I cry for ALL occasions! I cry when I'm happy, sad, mad, scared, excited, when I'm worshiping... ALL occasions! Just ask anyone in my family or from my childhood-- actually, someone who met me a week ago has probably already witnessed me cry!!! Seriously... it's ridiculous... but I can't help it! In fact, just talking about it makes me want to cry... okay, not really.

5. I take a blanket with me when I travel. Back in 1997 I was a youth intern at Southland Baptist Church in San Angelo, TX. One of my youth made a little quilt for me as a "going away gift". It goes with me on every trip I go on... it's my little "comfort blanky"... j/k. I just like it!

6. I shave my arms. I had VERY hairy arms. Dec of 2001 I had wrist surgery due to torn ligaments and tendons. So, they shaved my arm only half way up (between my wrist and elbow). It was very unattractive, so I decided to shave the rest of it... which meant I couldn't have one hairy and one not... so I shaved them both. I have done it since then!

Okay, I don't know who reads my blog other than people that have already been tagged. The only person that I know of is Katy. I don't know if Kym reads, but if so, I'm tagging you too!

Penguin Skateboard

Okay, so I'm not creative with my blog titles like most people. These are some videos that I finally got downloaded of our niece and nephew Zach and Autumn. Zach is getting so big. I can remember when he was 3 years old and was our ring barer in our wedding! He walked down the aisle w/ the pillow covering his face!! Too cute! Welp, he's not a little boy anymore! Here he is showing his skateboard moves...

Here are a few of Autumn. The first one is kinda dark (I'm sorry... I just ran to grab my camera so I could catch her in action and didn't think to turn more lights on in the room). It was so cute though... she looked like a little penguin.

Here is one that you can see a little better... but it's a short one...

Man, I just love being an aunt!

Getting out of hand!

I've posted 3 blogs in 2 days! I actually STARTED one yesterday (the 3,2,1 ACTION) but didn't post it until today. So, it's below the one from today... but it's newer... just FYI!

Proud to be an American!

Just have to say that I'm loving the Olympics! We've got it DVR-ing so we watch it EVERY night! We are up LATE ('til 10pm at least! I know... we've gone crazy!!!) Anyways... it's so fun to watch. The best part is watching our Americans win a medal and especially a gold and getting to hear our National Anthem! I LOVE IT!

My favorites are definitely the volleyball and swimming so far! As most of you know, Steve played v-ball in college and afterwards... so of course he's into it. When we both lived in Abilene, I would ALWAYS go watch Steve play v-ball... church league, HSU club, whatever! I even took road trips w/ them to Dallas to watch them play outdoor or in Galveston on the beach! I was a true fan of his... and I had a "secret" crush on him all along! Anyways, he used to play against one of the USA Olympic v-ball players. He's on the indoor team, #10- Riley Salmon. I think I've seen him play too when I used to watch Steve play in Dallas. Anyhoo... I told Steve it's cool that he can say he's played against an Olympian! So, needless to say, we're both hooked to the TV when any v-ball is on!

Swimming is quite a favorite as well!!! Michael Phelps is amazing! And did ya'll see the men's relay the other night! WOW! Steve and I were both at the edge of the bed yelling at the TV. Briley didn't know what to think and started barking at us for getting so excited! It was great!

Welp, that's it for now! I'm proud to be an American and love watching our athletes represent our country! GO USA!!!

3, 2, 1, ACTION!!!!!!

So I couldn't get all of the pics and videos downloaded for my last posting... so here are some more! There's a lot here... so I apologize in advance!

While I was home I got to sing w/ my childhood friends, Mindy and Hillary. We used to sing when we were in youth group together. Since we've been "grown up", we sing together every now and then when we're all at "home" together in Burk. So... it's always fun to bust out with some old Point of Grace songs, or AVB, or just whatever we can remember!!! So many people have talents and hobbies with decorating, creating things, making things, artsy fartsy things, playing sports, etc. My "talent" or "hobby" is singing! I could do it ALL DAY, EVERY DAY if I could... I love it! I'm not the best... but the Lord says to make a "joyful noise" and didn't say it had to be the "best- joyful noise"! So, I sing!

Here's a video of us singing a few weeks ago when we were all home for a visit and for Hillary's bridal shower. It's kinda weird to put a video of myself on here, but I've had requests to hear it... so, here it is...

Here's a video of Steve reading to Mallory when we babysat the girls a few weekends ago. He didn't know I was filming...

This is video I got of Morgan laughing. It was so funny... she was just sitting there and would crack herself up and then completely stop. Then she'd crack up again and stop! I loved it because she was laughing so hard and just shutting her eyes... it was SOOO cute! Check it out...

I got some video of Julia doing things... but the video is on my cell phone. I haven't figured out how to download it yet. But, here's one that I got on my camera of her playing in her little pool and sprinkler and B-Mom and Pop's... (note- you can't tell very well in this video, but the sprinkler kept spraying her right in the eyes and she kept blinking!)

It was CRAZY how much Johnathan has changed since I last saw him in May! He's a little chunker and is adorable!!! Here he is "jumping" w/ Jason... ( I apologize that it's sideways... I can't figure out how to rotate it)

And last, but not least, Aug 12th was my birthday and I have to share what I got from Steve... SO EXCITING...

First, here's part of the decorations Steve put up for me in the morning (it gets put up EVERY year... I love it!)...

Second, here's my gift... and YES guys and gals... I WANTED THIS AND LOVE IT!!!!

It's a Dallas Cowboys jersey of my FAVORITE player, Marion Barber! I've been wanting one for a long time now... and I finally got one! Most people look at me like, "seriously, LaShay... that's what you got for your birthday?" My response, "HECK YES!" I love my Cowboys!!! Thank you Steve, I love you!

Husband and Family time!

Steve and I have been away spending time with each other and my family. We don't get to go up to my hometown (Burkburnett, TX) very often since it's a 6 hour drive. We had missed out on getting to go up there when my brother's and their families went back in June. So, Steve and I took some time off work and hit the road! We went up to Burk for a few days and then went on our own little "get away" to do just that... get away! We haven't taken time off from work for anything other than a holiday or something in a LONG time! So, we took last week off work and spent time together.

Here's a run down of our week last week in pics...

Let me start w/ one or two of our "babysitting" weekend at Brad and Shannon's prior to our vacation...
#1- here are my instructions and tips from Shannon... SO HELPFUL!

#2- me and Mallory

#3- Me giving Morgan her bottle

#4- me and Steve w/ the girls on Sunday after church

Now for our "vacation"... We left SA on Thursday and stopped in to see one of my best friends from college... Karen (Milburn) Chandler. I LOVE to see this girl! When we're together, I just LAUGH the ENTIRE time almost! We got to see her, her husband Jason, and her sister Katy (and Katy's husband, Jason (not Karen's Jason) and their little boy, Denver). If you were at my wedding, Karen is the first bridesmaid that danced down the aisle doing the running man!!! LOVE IT! LOVE HER!

Here's a pic of me and Karen

Here's Karen and her hubby

Here are some pics from Burk (Jason came in w/ Julia and Johnathan for a day... so it was fun to spend some time w/ them... missed Jen though!)

#1- Julia and Johnathan

#2- me and Johnathan

#3- Julia saying "bye-bye" to Briley before we left

#4- mom and I got pedicures!!! Thanks Mom!!!!

#5- Dad in the backyard watching Julia swim and play in the sprinkler

#6- Uncle Charles and Aunt Tweety

#7- Uncle Steve got ordained at his church that weekend, so Mawmaw and Pawpaw came up for the weekend. Here's Uncle Steve, Debby, Tacey (not sure if I spelled it right), Mawmaw, Madison, and Seth

#8- Here's my cousin Travis and Pawpaw

After family time on the road, me, Steve and Briley headed to Round Rock. We spent Sun-Wed at a hotel. They let us bring Briley... it was suite... kinda like an apartment. So, Briley hung out in the hotel all day and did GREAT! Steve and I went shopping at the outlet mall in Round Rock- (FYI- they are not near as good as the San Marcos outlets) and then we even went to a mall. If you know me, you know that I HATE shopping... but it was a pleasure just to be with Steve and spend the day with him... even though it was shopping! Other than that, we didn't do a whole lot. We went to the pool at our hotel for about an hour... that's it. The rest of the time there we just chilled out, ate, shopped, and went to a movie. It was actually relaxing! The best part of the trip home was that it was only 1 hour as opposed to a 4 or 5 hour drive! It was great!!
