I am HAPPILY married to the most amazing, Godly, loving, handsome, and funny man... Steve! We've been married since 2003. Steve and I are active in our church, Community Bible Church, in San Antonio! In our down time, we love to spend time with each other. We also love spending time with our families and our friends. We are both HUGE Dallas Cowboys fans! We have no children yet... but hopefully that will change soon! We do have two dogs that are our "babies". They are both golden-doodles. The Black one is named Briley and the golden one is Landry.

Women's Retreat

I had the honor of going on a Women's retreat and leading worship for my parent's church (my hometown church that I grew up in). Mindy, Hillary and I were the "worship leaders" and it was SO wonderful getting to be there and sing with them!

Here we are... Late night silliness w/ childhood friends: (Mindy, Hillary and me)
(so much fun hearing some of the ladies stories of embarrassing moments!)

We were at this FANTASTIC ranch outside of Gainseville, TX! It was so beautiful and peaceful!!! Here's the view when we walked out of our room Saturday morning on our way to the dining hall for breakfast...

hanging out before worship (Hillary, Shannon, me, and Mindy)

The pastor of FBC Burk drove all the ladies down to the ranch, so he got to stay the night in his own little room. Here he is with his wife, Lana. They are both so amazing and FBC Burk is blessed to have them!

After the retreat I headed to Temple to meet up with Steve at his parent's house. We got to spend some time with them and Steve's Meemaw. It was a short visit, but it was good as always!

Okay, I think I'm caught up on my blogging! See below for a few more new posts...

Easter 2010

I had such a WONDERFUL Easter!!! It started Friday when my parents, Aunt Tweetie (Dad's sister), and Nanny (Dad's mom) all came into town!! YAY! I LOVE having my family come in! It doesn't happen much since we live so far from everyone... so when they are here... I LOVE IT!

Friday night I sang in our Easter performance at CBC and so we all went to that. I was SO EXCITED when I found out that my brother (Brad), Shannon, Mallory, and Morgan were all coming in just for the evening!!!! It was fun being on stage and looking out and seeing all of them! (missed getting to see Jason, Jenn, Julia, and Johnathan!) After church we went and had some ice cream at Cold Stone and visited a little while before Brad, Shannon, and M & M had to get on the road. I wish I had my camera with me so I could have pics of them! It was SO WONDERFUL to see them! Brad and Shannon... thank you so much for coming down!

Saturday, we took the fam to the dogpark so they could see it. (It's really fun and quite entertaining!) If you're from Burk, it's REALLY exciting! After the dog park we went down to the River Walk to do the tourist thing. We had a good time... River boat rides, shopping, eating, etc.

Here are some pics from the boat ride...

the whole gang (it's VERY hard to get us ALL in the pic when you're holding the camera yourself)

some scenic pics from the boat ride

you can't tell, but that picture is made up of a BUNCH of mosaic tiles!

Saturday evening we took them to eat at one of our new-found, favorite places called Tiago's. The desert there is AMAZING! I wish I would've taken a "before" picture but I forgot to, so here's the picture from the menu...

and here's what it looked like when we were all done...

After dinner we had to play some Wii. It was quite HILARIOUS!! We bowled, golfed, played volleyball, raced cars, snow boarded, shot the bow and arrow... can't remember what else. We stayed up LAUGHING and playing! I just had to add this... it's a video of Tweetie doing the dirt bike. The rest of us playing had already completed the race while Tweetie was still on her first lap... you can see why...

Landry ate up all the attention from Nanny!

It was an absolutely amazing time and I LOVED having them all here!

This isn't Easter, but I started downloading these pics and didn't want to have to start over. Steve grilled some burgers a few weeks ago and I just loved the dogs being out there and took the opportunity to take some pics!

***See below for a new post... and stay tuned for another new post! I'm still playing catch-up!***

Home Repairs/Updates

We have had quite a few house projects going on. None of them were HUGE... but some of them were a pain in the hiney! Thanks to my AMAZING hubby, he got them ALL done before family came to visit for Easter. Here are some of the projects that we've been working on over the past few months...

Painting

We had this BRIGHT blue in one of the guest rooms and we finally got around to repainting it with a much more "tamed" shade of blue/grey.

Here's Steve hard at work getting those edges just PERFECT!

you can kinda see the "old/BRIGHT" blue in one little streak... I wanted to show the difference in the color.
Here's the room before

Here's the after

Weeds

They have OVER TAKEN the yards in our neighborhood! It's insane, I've never seen it this bad! We had a family reunion of "cabbage patch kids" (aka weeds) in our yard! This is just one of MANY piles:

more piles!

Bathroom
We have been wanting to add a shelf/cabinet or something in our master bath. Here's the space we want it

Steve reading the directions (yes ladies, he reads instructions! YAY!)

and the new cabinet!

Organization
This may seem random, but I cleaned out my side of the closet and even color coded it! Here are the shirts

... and the pants

Studs
Now, our "little one" (Landry) decided to chew (or EAT) some of our baseboards and door frames when she was "younger". We had to completely replace a door frame to one of the guest rooms and then the door frame of the back doors. Here's Steve in the process of getting it all put back together...

Briley and Landry trying to figure all of the "construction" out

see what I mean by "EAT/CHEW"... she "CHEWED/ATE" down to the STUDS!!!! YIKES!

Here is the new replaced baseboard/door frame
