Hook 'Em!

Well, today I am EXTREMELY tired... why you ask???... well, because I stayed up late last night watching the NCAA National Championship Football game with UT vs. Alabama. It was a heart breaker, but at the same time, made me so proud of the Texas Longhorns!

For those of you who haven't heard yet (and if you're reading my blog, you probably don't really care as much about football as I do... but like I've said before... I'm blogging for my own memory here too!)... anyhoo...

Our Quarter Back (QB), Colt McCoy (side note- a Godly young man who after every game gives glory to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!)got hurt. Not only did he get hurt, but he got hurt in the very beginning of the game... and was out for the rest of the game. The backup QB was a true freshman, Garret Gilbert. Poor guy... could you imagine being in his shoes??? Some people play football for years and don't ever even make it to that Championship game... and here he is a FRESHMAN... and he has to fill the shoes of Colt McCoy and lead the Texas Longhorns... his first game (other than pre-season!) So, needless to say... no pressure!! Well, long story short, the beginning of him playing and the rest of the first half was just awful! Second half... he leads the Horns to come within 3 points of Bama (who was up 24-6 at half- I think... maybe 21-6?- regardless... way ahead of the horns!). It was a fantastic game and I'm proud of our Horns!!! They played with class and heart... and showed that Bama wasn't all that! (seriously... if a FRESHMAN QB can come in and drive the team to be within 3 points of Bama during that game... enough said!)

The best part of it all though was Colt McCoy's interview after that game. Mind you, his dream was to get to this game and PLAY in it! He gets there... plays in it for a VERY SHORT TIME... so, he has every right to get frustrated! Most people would even blame this on God... "Why did you let him get hurt?". But not Colt... after that game he told everyone watching... on national TV that God is in control, has a plan for him, and the God is his ROCK! How awesome... giving God the glory... even after one of his dreams just got shattered! God is good... ALL THE TIME!!!

If you haven't seen this yet... check this out- it's Colt McCoy... I AM SECOND
